Symptoms from escorts
      #9928 - 09/22/00 09:07 AM

What worries me is that after visiting the escorts i developed rashes around the groin and on my chest. My dermatologist said this was subhorric dermititis, and ive also experienced recurring pain in the joints of my knees. I have seen websites that list these as symptoms found during the asyptomatic HIV stage. Remember all my encounters were protected. What do yall make of this?

Don't match the symptoms. Get tested if you are worry. I really DOUBT that you got anything with protected sex. There is no such thing call hiv symptoms because there are so many factors and symptoms actually related to other diseases but not hiv. Stop calm and wait 3 months and see how. Again I don't think you got anything.

Sebhorreic dermatitis is very common. It is also normal for this to happen during warmer seasons (kinda like "heat rash). Dematologists normally give you some form of cream to use and that's the end of it.

The only way to quell your fears is to get a test. I know that asking to be tested is difficult for people because it makes them feel somehow less of a person or embarrassed. I kinda compare it to when I was a teenager and had to buy condoms for the first time. I assumed the cashier would think less of me, so I hated the idea. But guess what, when I put it behind me, the end result was worth the embarrassment! Much the same here. If you get by saying to your doctor you have a 3 year old concern and want some peace of mind - the value of being told "you are negative" is certainly worth it.

Remember, doctors are under strict confidentiality guidelines and cannot disclose to anyone the procedures they perform, etc.

Good luck.
