chest rash

unprotected sex in dec 2003.
been experiencing ongoing chest rashes that come and go for 3 months now. no pain or itching and they only last about half an hour. someone told me that its not HIV because if you get a rash (during ARS ?) it only lasts for a few days to weeks then disappers for good. i've had this on and off for over 3 months ?? could this be HIV ? 5 months after one incident , would i still get this type of symptom ?

An HIV rash is a macular papular [red and raised] usualy associated with fever and and or flu like symptoms. As far as the duration, it usually does not wax and wane. you have had this for 3 months ? get tested you will more than likly be Neg.

it comes and goes. had it yesterday, 5 months after possible exposure. it's been a while before yesterday, perhaps a month ago. I did have a cold then ? but yeah, the first time i noticed it was about 2.5 months ago.
when you say "it usually does not wax and wane" do you mean it lasts for a short while then disappears all together ?
its red, but not itchy or sore (infact i cant feel it). looks like heat rash similar to this:
