Nodes/Glands>..Help!
      #97983 - 05/07/04 10:34 AM

I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that my painful glands/nodes might not be HIV related. I am almost four weeks post-exposure (top with known HIV+/broken condom). I am also just about to complete a PEP program of antivirals (started at 24 hours post-exposure).

But in last week, I've noticed a definite burning/pain in armpit and groin nodes. One node in groin is particularly troublesome and palpable.

Has anyone else experienced this and later tested negative???

Thanks

With a palpable risk like you had, and the painful node. You should go to a doctor QUICKLY and do a PCR or RNA test.

This test for the ACTUAL virus, and can be done 48 - 72 hours after a RISK.

You are at the perfect time for a PCR test. TAKE ONE!!!!!

You will still have to do a 3 month ELISA.

Good Luck
