"Made out" (Sexual contact but no oral, anal, or unprotected sex, mostly deep kissing/sucking on nipple) with a girl who's sexual history has suddenly come into question when she mentioned in passing a few days ago her ex-boyfriend may have shown up as positive. I realize these are generally defined as "low-risk" activities but honestly my gum health is not the best.
About 3 days after the encounter I came down with a cold, only a very bad cough with no tirdness, fever, or stomach issues. About a week after that I developed a strange rash on the side of my stomach that tends to disappear and flare up (very itchy) at random times. It DOES look like a sunburn but looks more like a series of bug bites and only when scratched.
She and I are both being tested, although for me, it seems far to soon to have developed detactable antibody levels but what are the chances I was infected based on given symptoms and description of events?
I brought the issue up with her and she claims to have been tested 4 months after her last contact with the boy in question and tested negative.
Thanks for any help :-)

Deep kissing and nipple sucking are not low risk, they are no risk. HIV is not transmitted through kissing or nipple sucking unless there are copius amounts of blood present. And I'm talking about the two of you punching each other's teeth out before kissing or a deep and bloody gash across her nipple. Graphic? Yes, but that should give you an idea of how far it has to go to even be considered a theoretical risk.
There is no reason for you to test from what you have described.

Thank you for your response. Just to ease my peace of mind, how quickly do symptoms of acute infection usually become apparent from time of exposure, less than a week?
