A lot depends on what you are looking for. You can get the Confide tests online fairly cheap if you are looking for an anonymous test. If you go to your doctor, which personally I think is the best option since they are bound to confidentiality and cannot share your results with anyone but you.... the HIV 1/2 lab test would be covered by your insurance. You should have no fear of this. Your insurance does NOT care if you get an hiv test and they dont flag you in any wa (I happen to work for one of the largest healthcare insurers, and know what they profile). The ONLY time your insurance company will identify you will be once you are officially given a diagnosis of HIV on a medical bill. I may actually post this generically for all to see since it seems to be a major concern to some folks.
If you do not have insurance, the lab would probably cost on the order of $200-300 and a doctors visit to review the results is probably another $100-150.
