Burning Tongue Part II (My Exposure)
      #91939 - 03/12/04 03:53 PM

My Exposure would be deep French Kissing (I have a non-contagious gum condition in which they are always cut and open. They bleed quite a bit if dental floss is just slightly inserted between teeth) and I performed clitoral masturbation on her. I don't think I had a cut on my finger but I have heard that we always have microscopic cuts under our cuticles. My lips have also been extremly dry for 3 months and nothing is working. I have also been taking a multi "B" vitamin and have started taking Folic Acid today to try to alleviate the tongue pain. I must admit I am nervous.

So your risk was deep kissing and fingering? There are no risks associated with these activities. Unless she had large amounts of blood in her mouth, you should not be concerned about that at all. Saliva does not transmit HIV.

And microscopic cuts mean nothing when it comes to HIV and fingering. You have seven layers of skin, HIV is not able to pass through all of those layers. Only a deep, fresh wound would pose a theoretical risk for fingering. Basically, your finger would need to be dripping blood to be a concern.

Your symptoms mean nothing for two reasons. One, there are no symptoms that are indicative of HIV. The only thing that will tell you that you have HIV is a HIV test. And two, what you described in no way puts you at risk for HIV.

I do not know why your lips are dry or your tongue burns. For that you will need to see your doctor. I can tell you that they are not HIV-related. From what you described, you did nothing to get HIV, so how could you have it? Understand?
