Tonsils

My tonsils are swollen, with a lump on the left one. The right one has a couple of white spots. Is this a sign of HIv. It's been a month, since a unprotected vaginal encounter (Broken Condom). I'm losing my mind............. Cheers from the U.K

i doubt your tonsil have anything to do with hiv. Are you male or female? Go to your gp and he will most certainly confirm that, with one time protected sex, hiv is not at all easy to get. do go have a test but don't get paranoid cause you are very very probably neg. Do go to a throat doctor, i had mine taken out recently and gen health has improved greatly.

No, your tonsil condition has nothing to do with HIV. According to the CDC, "condom breakage rarely results in infection". The odds are greatly in your favor of being okay. Just get the test at the three month mark and try not to worry too much until then. You should be commended for using a condom in the first place. Sometimes things happen that can not be controlled, but you at least were doing everything you could to protect yourself.
