Dear all, I want to get some help from any of you on my personal situation. I had developed a blister on my foot due to tight shoes. When it was fully growed and then the top skin broke, the blister left the inner skin exposed. I wasn't paying too much attention to it until one day it hurt me a lot. I went to see the doctor who told me that I had a fungal infection. This scared me to death, 'cause often times, I heard people talke about fungal infection with HIV virus carriers. I did have a low-risk exposure over a month ago. I had protected sex with commercial sex workers in the Southeast Asia. No matter how much I regreted, it already happened. Anyhow, my question is that possible my infection is due to HIV, becuase I had never had any fungal infection in the past. I also noticed that my skin seem very vulnerable to bruises as well, although I have not developed any other symptoms like fever, sore throat etc. Many thanks!

If your exposure was one month ago its highly unlikely (almost impossible) that that fungal infection is hiv related. Many people develop fungal infection on their feet so one cant tell hiv infection by this kind of symptom. Since its been one month since your possible exposure wait till the 3 month window period and then move on. Actually if by know you havent experienced any ars like symptoms it is a good sign. Get tested and stop worrying.
