False negatives

How common are these after 3 months and how the heck would we know if we had one if after your negative you do not get tested again? I do not understand this. Anybody have any stats on false negatives? Thank you everybody!!

The ELISA test is highly sensitive, and very unlikly to miss a true HIV antibody response. The main question in testing is making sure enough time has passed to allow for an antibody response to develop. Certainly 3 months is well within the usual range.
