I am in the process of doing that.......but I am wondering if anyone has been in my situation? Can I still be infected with HIV ? Any ideas on what can be bringing my T cell count so low? Thank you Rjiasn and anyone else that can help me out.

Hey Anon;
Do me and all the caring folks that are here a favor and GET THEE TO AN HIV SPECIALIST!
When I converted to AIDS I had 20 CD 4's and a viral load of over 500,000! That was in 1994, and guess what, I am still here and now my CD 4's are over 500 and my load is very low.
Perk up, and find sombody that knows this disease and go for all the knowledge you can get your hands on. A good place to start is your local health department, and have them steer you to the best HIV organization in your area, who can then help you find a Doctor that is HIV proficient.
Not being a medical professional, it would not be right for me to make a judgement about your HIV status, but you need to contact somebody who is.
Believe it or not none of us here know you, but I know for a fact that we all can relate to where you are right now, and I for one will be sending you all the positive energy that I can muster.
Be well, and take care of yourself!

I hear where you are comming from. I read two replies ago and as abrasive as this may sound I do not mean to offend anyone. DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR. If he knew he would have told you so. Why listen to him. It is clear that he does not know and he does not care that he does not know. There is much more information offered right here on the body than your doctor will ever know that he never knew.

It is your life. To trust it at this point in time to someone that says that you are normal with a cd4 count of 260 doesnt make sense. I have heard so many people that think they have an upper hand on everyone else by "listening to the doctor". I have watched them die too. A lot of people by diferent ailments.

To each his own I guess but your doctor does not know what he is taslking about.
