Question about STD symptoms

Recently, I received unprotected oral sex at a party. After the incident, I got really nervous producing every symptom for every STD I could find on the internet for a few days. However, after like 3 or 4 days, when I calmed down, all the symptoms went away. I realise I'm at almost no risk for HIV. However, my question is this. Is it possible to see symptoms from an STD almost immediately (like within an hour of the incident) or is this more a result of anxiety? Does it take time for symptoms to develop should you receive an STD?

I'm not a doctor. But logic says that there is no such thing as an instantaneous disease. Colds take days to weeks to incubate. So do STD's.
Hives and allergic reactions can occur instantly. Your head can do some amazing things to you.
