well, it has been 4 months since my exposure. The exposure has been called "little to no risk" by the CDC, as well as two other "experts" I had an encounter with an escort that included unprotected oral sex, (she sucked me) and protected vaginal sex. the reason it concerned me is that I like to shave my penis, scrotum and base, I always thought that it made the sexual experience better. I had moisture on the base of the penis (an area which I shaved about 2 hours prior to the encounter) after we had sex. I do not know whether this was vaginal fluid or lubricant, I just know that it was wet.
Now I am four months out, and the closer I get to six months, the more worried I get about testing. I have had no symptoms, and I even seriously considered not testing, just thought I was being stupid. Two months left, (i am testing with the home access, which is a generation 1 elisa) and I find the remaining months to be unbareable.
I have had one test for insurance reasons at exactly 25 days, noone called, so I am assuming it was negative. I have also had blood taken twice, one for a physical, and once for surgery, nothing was ever said about anything abnormal.
Any thoughts from anyone? Does anyone think I am being stupid and should not even test? I cannot seem to get the new guy from the expert Q&A bulliten board to answer me.

Eddie, I dont think you have anything to worry about. At worst, I would think you might have gotten crabs or something relatively tame like that. Read all the info on the site that says that transmission of hiv from a female to a male is very very difficult. I also talked to my infectious disease specialist who sees people who are just diagnosed up through end-stage aids every day - he says that in order to transmit the virus the way you describe, through the external skin, there would have to be "a lot of blood and severely compromised skin" for the transmission to occur. remember, the base of your penis is basically out in the air most of the time. The virus dies in like 60 seconds out in the air (dont go looking for a stat on that, just know it dies fast). I think you are in the all clear. But, the way you got a test at 25 days does give me incentive for a separate post. Good luck to you.
