Normal Blood Test - Would the virus show up?

I am worried that I may have contracted HIV and have yet to go to a clinic for a test. However, a few days ago I went for a blood test because I have been feeling tired for over a year now. My question is this. Could the virus show up on the blood test they have taken or would I have to go to a GU clinic?

Only if that test had been ordered by your physician during the order for tests. Maybe if you had told your doctor about your possible risk it could have been added.

No, you need to request a specific HIV test and sign a consent form. Please do not assume you are infected no matter what your symptoms are. There are far more negative tests than positive ones. Take the test and put your mind at ease.
