throat infection

i have never had unprotected sex, but last fall i went to my doctor with the following symptoms: yellow infection pockets on the back of my throat, moderate fever. NO rash. The doctor tested my throat, and found some traces of meningitis bacteria (which normally live in your throat anyway). She gave me antibiotics, and it cleared up in 24 hours. I asked her about HIV symptoms, and she said she doubted I was infected. Since then, I have been worried sick. I always think my neck is swollen, and when I get it checked, it isn't. I don't run any fever. I am often tired, but I think that is due to a lack of inactivity - lol. I'm now entering medical school, and I am consumed with worry. Do my symptoms sound like acute viral infection, or some random throat infection I picked up? Please advise.

You've never had unprotected sex? WHY would you worry about HIV???? You're fine!!! You're just like the rest of us, stressing out over nothing!! Be happy, and stop worrying!!
