ARS Onset
      #79103 - 12/10/03 02:01 AM

Like many on this board I'm in the midst of abject panic and need some advice. I had protected vaginal sex with a sex worker in Thailand during which I also fingered her with no protection. I couldn't see any cuts or abrasions on my fingers. 24 hours later, and for the past 4 days I've been suffering terrible diarrhea and have convinced myself it's the onset of ARS. I don't appear to have any other symptoms, fever etc. I have read that ARS 'usually' starts within 2-4 after exposure. Is this a given, or can it be much sooner? Hopefully I being stupid, and I know nothing can substitute for testing. Any thoughts on the whole ARS onset timing?

Most of the time it is 2-4 weeks but it can happen sooner or later. Why are you worrying anyway? You have no risk so quit worrying. No need to test....That is the reason they made condoms....and fingering poses no risk either....Relax
