I would like to ask anyone here what is considered a fever when dealing with HIV/ARS ? I have a fever of 99 and a cough. Is 99 a typical ARS fever ?

Fever is one of the most common symptoms of ARS. It's also the most common symptom when the body is fighting any viral infection. While bacterial infections can cause a low grade fever, most typically a viral infection will cause a high fever.
99 is not considered a fever at all. A breakdown I once saw showed it like this.
100 - 100.9 Low grade 101 - 101.9 Mid grade 102 and up - High

Dear Mr. Stress,
That is not considered a fever and folks might be interested in knowing that if you drink hot or cold beverages before taking an oral reading it will be affected; women in particular during ovulatory years will fluctuate during their cycles depending if they are in preovulatory phase (lower) and postovulatory phase (higher) this varies by a degree or so. Estrogen versus progesterone.
Temperatures outside, in the house, and the common cold can change your temperature; not to mention exercise, weight loss or gain, a myriad of factors.
Also if you are running a HIV fever at the initial "flu type stage" you are likely to note night sweats as well.
Karen :)

Dear Anon,
If you mean you do not like condoms well I hate em! I can sympathize BUT there are no real alternatives in today's world trust me. Now if the "fit" is an issue they do come in different sizes!! I mean (blushing) here I have a big man (my husband) so I know and thank God they do make them in sizes. It truly helps. So if fit is the issue; try some "on for size."
