Please can someone allay my fears. I went for an HIV test & 20 minutes later on my way home I looked at the palm of my hand it appeared to have a slither of brownish blood not a lot. I licked my finger & rubbed my palm - I inadvertently put the same finger back in my mouth to wet it some more.Is this an HIV risk _ i have went through agony waiting 12 wks for my test - please can someone put my mind at ease?

It is absolutely impossible to contract HIV from dried blood. Stop stressing :)

Thanks for the reply but if my hand was sweaty would this not keep it "alive"?

Sweat, water, miracle grow...etc, do not keep HIV alive. HIV dies almost instantly when it comes into contact with air. The virus can only live within the host. Relax, you are completely safe when it comes to licking off the dried blood on your hand. BTW, thats kinda gross, but I dont judge ;)

Thanks - I swear i did'nt lick it as such!!. I used saliva on my finger & rubbed it then licked my finger tip & rubbed it again.I am just being paranoid then? I would hope that even if it was infected blood the amount & time elapsed would mean no danger of HIV.

You need to stop freaking out over non risk situations.
