Please help me... On June 30 I may have been exposed to HIV. After 48 hrs I had flu-like symptoms and a sudden re-occurence of herpes at the base of my tail bone. 2 wks later I developed flu-like symptoms which persisted for about 2-3 days. I also experienced a persistant but mild soar throat and possibly slightly swollen glands. I still have the soar throat and now feel like I have a viral load... a tingling in my face and upper body.
What should I be thinking and/or doing?

What type of exposure was it?
In about 90% of people infected, ARS will appear 2-4 weeks after a significant exposure (unprotected anal or vaginal sex, sharing a needle). The other 10% won't experience symptoms. Your flu symptoms 48 hours later would be too soon to be ARS and the second bout of flu symptoms did not really last long enough. ARS clears up on its own in about two weeks, so the 2-3 days worth doesn't seem significant.
Don't base whether you're infected or not by symptoms alone! Doctor's don't even do that. Only an HIV test at 3 months will tell you for sure, but again, what kind of exposure was it?
