Ok, I was the insertive partner in unprotected oral sedx with a sex worker. Now I contracted HSV-1 on my genitals from this encounter and I am now afraid of possible HIV infection. She had no visible sores or blood in her mouth. I understand that insertive oral is low risk, but since I caught HSV I wondered if the HIV could have somehow piggybacked into my system. I have had possible ARS symptoms for about 7 weeks now and I tested negative at 5.5 weeks with a standard ELISA after I had been having sympotms for 2-3 weeks. SHould I be very concerned here. I mean I see people say "no documented cases of transmission through saliva" all the time, but this was obviously more than saliva as I got HSV (herpes simplex).

HSV is extremely easy to pass. It's a pretty hardy little virus. Much more so than HIV. I've never seen anything saying Salivia inhibits Herpes in the same way it does HIV.
Symptoms of ARS only last a short period of time - a few days to a week, then they self-resolve...meaning they all go away. Symptoms that linger don't have anything to do with HIV.
