How bad can initial infection get?
      #67650 - 07/16/03 07:46 AM

OK. So now I'm getting worried. How bad can the symptoms of HIV be in the first 4 weeks following exposure? I still have gastritis (from 6 days post exposure), and today (15 days post exposure) I am developing a sore throat and having severe fatigue. There is a sore throat thing going around, so in all likelihood that is what it is. I am of course panicking that it is something much worse. What I want to know is how bad can the initial HIV infection get (i.e. pre-seroconversion). I have already been tested for all the other lovely STD's one can get and am waiting for results. Will wait until 28 days and test for HIV and again at three months.

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.
