from ars to antibodies.
      #67016 - 07/05/03 01:27 PM

Let`s say I got infected day 1. Day 77 to 81 I suffer from ARS. Would my test come back positive if I had it done day 88? How long does it take to produce antibodies?

(I know people say ARS do not occur as late as 10/11 weeks after exposure, but some doctor I talked to, told me it could happend..does this explain why my 88 day test came back negative? Ok, I probably sound like a psyko, but could it be a possibility?)

In most healthy adults it only takes 25 days to produce antibodies. They usually say to wait 90 days to take the test, just to be sure. So, I would say that at day 88, you're just fine. You are negative. You don't need anymore testing. Quit worrying about it and just go on with your life. hugs

Hi, After talking to my doctor several months ago he told me a slightly alarming fact and that was that a person could become infected with the hiv virus and in theory they could have enough of the virus in their system as to infect others within 24 hours, with all conditions been optimum. Some food for thought...

That's why you have to use protection.

antibodies are made soon as you are infected the time it takes them to show up on a test is what people are concerned with.
