I have not received any replies to my post (STD Symptoms), is it because nobody knows or they do not want to tell me that I may be infected?
May 15, 2003, I had a man cum on my face, it ran down to the corner of my mouth, some may have gotten in my mouth, I am not really sure. I do not remember tasting anything though. The corner of my mouth was red and had a burning sensation for about 1/2 an hour after I cleaned things up. Roughly a week later I had fatigue and slight nausea which I still have today (6 1/2 weeks later), 4 weeks, severe sore throat, ER doctor said Sinusitis and gave me Zithromax. It got better but never completely. 6 weeks, still have discomfort in my throat and a visible white spot in the back of my throat (only one). Dr. gave me Amoxicilian without seeing me, again, a little better but still some discomfort. I also had a couple days with blood on the toilet paper. I have not had a fever that I know of, the glands in my neck feel like that are pea size or a little bigger, not sure if that is swollen or not and I have not noticed any other swollen glands on me.
Based on the information I have found, the odds of it being HIV based on the exposure is slim to none due to the fact that there were no visible open cuts or sores on my face or the corner of my mouth, and I have been told that if semen would have gotten in my mouth I would have tasted it and also saliva helps to kill the virus. I just do not know why I keep having these problems or symptoms.
I would really appreciate any comments good or bad on the information that I have found regarding the possible transmission in my case, any other STD's that my problems may be caused by. (HEP vaccination couple yrs ago, so should not be that)
This board has been so helpfull in the past, and I am really hoping to get some comments now to give me some ideas on what it may or maynot be.

It could also be that you've posted quite a bit and have received answers to past posts telling you that you don't have anything to worry about in connection with HIV.
Seriously, where exactly was your risk?
HIV isn't transmitted through skin, so the fact semen ran down your face doesn't mean squat.
You may or may not have gotten anything in your mouth. Even if you did, the amount is miniscule and the Saliva in your mouth would combat it. Think about it, oral sex itself is considered a VERY LOW RISK and what happened to you doesn't even amount to oral sex.
Many people show up on this board worried about being infected after an 'exposure' that is not considered a risk.
As far as your sore throat, we all get them. Many years ago I had a bad one, went in, found out I had Strep. Got that cleared up, then a few days later it was outrageously sore again. Went back to doc. I had managed to pick up a viral throat infection right after the Strep. Antibiotics don't work on viral infections. He said I just had to wait it out. By the time it was all said and done, my throat had been sore for a couple of months.
Your fatigue and slight nausea may well be side effects of the antibiotics you are taking. They may also be caused by stress.

I thought about the fact that I have had a few posts on here and maybe people are getting tired of responding. If that is the case, I wish they would say so and i would not post anymore regarding the same issue.
My main concerns are that the corner of my mouth was red and burning so there must have been some irritation there, also, the fact that maybe some did get just inside my mouth and lip, and there may not have been any saliva there, and finally, all the problems I am having which are not normal.
Maybe I am a nut case and worry wart. If so, someone please tell me, or maybe I should be concerned. I just do not know.
I plan on getting tested again in the next couple weeks and see what results I get, and if negative, again at the 3 month period. I do not ever plan on putting myself at risk again, regardless of how low or high the risk may be.
I just feel very uneasy about the problems and the situation right now and need some input. I really appreciate your response and would definately welcome more, no matter if they are good, bad, worrisome, or degrading to my mental state of mind.

Get your test. Since you are post 6 weeks the results while not considered conclusive in this country are an excellent indicator of what your test result will be at 3 months. It will be negative.
Keep this in mind. If you were to test positive you would be the FIRST in over 20 years to have gotten infected from what you described.
Somehow I just don't see that happening. The hows and whys of transmission are very well known. We know enough about the virus at this point that there are no new surprises on how it is transmitted. After all, HIV it isn't magic.
For all the fear and misinformation that surrounds HIV, the truth is that it is just a virus.
Oh, another thought....in one of your posts you said that your skin was red and burning from the semen after you cleaned up. Sure you might not have just scrubbed a little too hard? Facial skin is sensitive.
Even as non-specific as ARS symptoms may be, the things that are causing you problems can be attributed to any number of things that have nothing to do with HIV.

Thanks for your reply. The redness and burning started before I cleaned up. IT was right in the corner of my mouth only, not on my cheek or anywhere else that came into contact with the semen.
I tested at 5 weeks, now I am coming up on 7 weeks, should I go ahead and test now or wait a couple more weeks?
I explained the situation today to my doctor, and he said the things I was describing did not sound at all like an STD, let alone HIV. He kinda down played how I was feeling. I trust him completely, but my mind just keeps going back to the fact that no tests were done. he did not see a need for testing in this situation.
I saw a post on another forum where someone was exposed in early March, tested negative on April 10 and then positive on April 28. I was really relaxed after my 5 week test until I read that post. I am in about the same time frame as they were. This post was in another forum here at thebody.com.
Again, maybe I am worrying too much and just need to snap out of it!
As always, any and all comments are welcome and greatly appreciated.

This evening, I noticed a bruise like spot on my scrotum. Again, I ask, coincidence, or possible HIV related? Please respond, I was starting to feel better and now my worries start again.

The bruise seems to be clearing up. Just wondering, would it do e any good to test now that I am at the 7 1/2 week period? I still have worries often (not as bad as at first). I have read a few posts lately that say they have tested negative within the first month or so, but by the second or third month they have tested positive.
Would it be a waste of money to test at 71/2 weeks, or would it be worthwhile?
