We read a lot on here and all about how you take longer to become posivite - or atl east those nurses did - and they were coinfected with hepatitis C and HIV.
so what's that mean? does that mean that the window period doesn't work if we're talking about someone who's coinfected? scary [censored], man.
i guess i'm saying that maybe 6 months isn't enough b/c you might also have gotten Hep C, which will make you take longer to seroconvert!
scary [censored], man! we gotta start looking up [censored] on hapatisis C and stuff.

According to my infectious disease doctor... While Hepatitis C might take a while to present itself to an infected person, the body will actively be fighting it rather quickly. I tested 4 weeks out from my encounter and the doctor said the Hepatits tests were 100% conclusive. Get tested for Hepatitis A,B, and C and once those are negative put your fears aside of being that 1 in whatever million person that will test positive beyond the window period for HIV.
Take Care.

Another thing to remember is that Hep C is unlikely to be transmitted sexually. It's something to worry about for blood exposures though.
