HIV related symptoms????

I had unprotected anal and oral sex 2 weeks ago. About a week after, I started having symptoms like nausea, chills, stomach/abdominal cramping, itchiness all over (no rash), and EXTREME Fatigue. The symptoms are continuing now into the second week. Could these symptoms be HIV related??

I am not a doctor and have no medical training, but read the "listen to me" post below. Also, guilt can cause your body to do funny things. The only way to know for sure if your symptoms are HIV related or not is to get tested. Check back to a Worried 2000 post about 6 weeks ago or so relating to ARS. I think there was some discussion somewhere about a fever and generalized swollen lymph nodes being involved in 80-100% of ARS cases.

Yes I think you are correct, I am not a doctor or anything, but a high fever is present probably 9 out of 10 times, new studies show this. And swollen general nodes would be a common symptom also, because it is a natural way your body would fight off such an infection.

Thanks for taking time to reply. I have read that fever is present in most cases as well. Luckily I have not had a fever as of yet. I have been feeling very guilty about the whole thing and my stress/anxiety levels are extremely high. So I will hope for the best. Thanks again.

Symptoms of ARS would normally not start after one week. The symptoms you describe could be caused by many things, including depression, anxiety, hundreds or viruses that aren't even documented. However, you put youself at a great risk, and number one, you should never take that risk again, for yourself and your partner's sake. Do not dwell on the symptoms too much, wait the recommended period and get an elisa test. No one can tell you if you have hiv without a test.
