I know this board is full of worried wells mostly, but has anyone actually experienced what is commonly known as ARS? Only reason I ask is because as we all know the symptoms are similar to other colds, etc.
I have a sore throat (but no fever, rash, lymphadenopathy, etc) 2 weeks after a possible exposure. So this is relatively mild. My possible exposure is also relatively mild (used a condom with vaginal sex, but had razor burn from shaving my privates). Girl says she is negative (as she is a frequent blood donor), but who knows.

The worried wells in the past have worried about shaved pubes also. They were told that HIV isn't transmitted that way. They tested negative. It still isn't transmitted that way and you will test negative if that is your only exposure.

Well I shaved it the night before though - could have tiny cuts and abrasions.

at least 50% and as high as 90% will have ARS symptoms and they are fever , rash and swollen glands being the most common the ARS feels like a flu/mono. you will know it if you have it.

If people know when they have ARS why do so many people on this board swear they have had ARS symptoms only to find they are negative?
If people know when they have ARS why do so many people not know they are even infected?
Symptoms don't mean a thing. Only a test can tell you if you are infected.

Doctors always look for symptoms with any disease and if 50-90% of people who get HIV have symptoms then ARS is a very real thing when dealing with HIV.

Up to 50 percent don't show symptoms.
