rash?

I had sex with someone who had lots of red spots (the size of a coin) on his back. In the middle of each "coin" he had something that - i think - looked like a pimple. He had some on his chest as well.
Is this the sort of rash that is common for HIV + people? If it is, I KNOW that does not mean he is positive, but I am just wondering...
