High risk or low risk?
      #63751 - 04/16/03 12:08 PM

A few weeks back I had unprotected vaginal sex whith
someone who I didn't know very well. It happened a couple of times and I think he has been inside of me for about 10 minutes all together. He didn't ejaculate.
I am just wondering if this is concidered a high or low risk exposure. Either way I am going to test for HIV and all the Std.
Such a stupid mistake.

Also, what about oral sex when your lips were really dry?
hmm, yes, I did that as well.

Take care everyone,

S.

I'm waiting for the results of a test I took yesterday because I've been freaking out with the thought of having HIV. From what I've found out lately though is that, first of all, although possible, it's not likely to contract it from oral sex. Second, if you have had unprotected sex, it's a good idea to get a test right away, mostly for peace of mind. However, if he didn't ejaculate, I would say you are at a pretty low risk. My advice is get the test cuz it's easy and you won't keep wondering forever.

You need to wait at least 6 weeks before you bother to test. Any sooner is just a waste of money. Even 6 weeks isn't conclusive but at least it's a very good indicator of what your 12 week test will show.

Better yet use protection in the future and then you won't have to rush out and test at all.

Hi -
I did the same thing about 1 yr ago.
I did not get HIV but I got Herpes2 from that 1 time.
Your risk was so low but a risk on some level - I became worried about precum even though the guy came out side of me (sorry to be so graphic).
I tested and found peace of mind.
I tested at 7 and 9and 12 weeks and it was all negative.
Don't risk it again - you may not get HIV but you can get other things - I did :(
Your risk was low but I know how you are thinking now and only time and a test will tell you are negative.
10 minutes ......It ain't worth it - use a condom next time.

VERY Low risk for HIV, but other STD's you have a risk for - chances are you will not get one. Use a condom.

Test for the other STD's, but your HIV risk is again, very very very very very very very very very LOW!
