Cougar - I read in your earlier post that your doctor explained some of your symptoms as chlamydia-related. I am very interested to hear about your experience and more about what your doctor said. I contracted chlamydia/urethritis after a hish risk exposure in March. One month later I took a one day dose of antibiotics...the obvious symptoms cleared up (discharge, frequent urination). But ever since then, I've experienced joint pain, swollen nodes in groin, and minor fatigue. I of course fear the worst...even though I have tested negative on a 2 month PCR and a 3 month ELISA. My doctor seems confused. He ran more blood test this week to check for Hep, and other stuff.
How can chlamydia cause these symptoms months after the chlamydia was supposedly cleared up?
Thanks for any response. Good luck.

It is a disease called Reiter's Syndrome or Reactive Arthritis that causes this problem. Do some search on the internet for this stuff and if will clear up a lot of questions you have. Chlamydia is the number one factor in cases or Reiters Syndrome/Reactive arthritis. Once it has begun, it has to run it's complete course. Curing the Chlamydia does not stop it from running it's course. It is basically an auto-immune disorder where your body attacks itself, thinking it is attacking an invader in the body. It is an immune system that goes nuts for a while and usually clears up after 6-9 months. I had all the same problems, joint pain, pains in my groin, rash on my palms and soles, and various other stuff. Hope this helps.
Later.

Wow I'm very interested in this Reiter's Syndrome. I've had many of the symptoms. I was wondering if one of the symtoms is sores in the mouth. They are small clear sores that go away but then another appears. Please respond...thanks.

Yes, one of the symptoms is sores in the mouth. They are not blisters or anything, just small painfull areas in the mouth.
