Hi guys, How good to have you out there to share my worries. After a high risk sexual relation over 3 months ago, I have had a flue on 2 occassions, once after 4 weeks, and then after 10 weeks. I have had 3 hiv tests done, at 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 12 weeks. THANK GOD ALL NEGATIVE. In between the 2 flues I was hospitalized for 3 days for having stomach problems, digestion problems and bad pain. Nothing was found, I guess it was caused by mu nerves. Now 13 weeks later I have a pain in my liver, had a test done yesterday and happen to have extremely high direct bilirubin. Is there any relation between liver problems and HIV after 3 months of exposure. I greatly apprecciate your comments Regards, TUCAN

I haven't heard liver pain as being a symptom of ARS. Hepatitis is much more contagious and many more people are infected by it than HIV. Get tested so you can rule that out...and remember it could be a wide variety of things.
Later.

acute HIV illness may cause an elevation of liver enzymes but no pain unless the liver is enlarged due to the virrus itself which rarely occurs. I do not think you should consider HIV however, having the pain after 3 months it could be more relevant to HEP B or C . Antibodies for Hep B should appear about one month after the onset of symptoms, however Hep C antibodies may take less than that, but symptoms are rarely associated with Hep C.
Good luck
