can someone help ?
i have read on some website that cold(running, stuffy nose, sneezing) is definitely not one of the symptoms of acute viral syndrome. i know that i should not judge based on the sysmptoms. but, i am freaked out and want to assure myself that since i had a bad cold along with flu like illness, 2 weeks from a protected exposure, i am still safe !
this website has been a tremendous comfort factor and thanks to all u folks out there !!

I spoke to a councillor about my "ARS". I was seeing him about health anxiety, and I mentioned my ARS fears.
He said: You could have had a cold and HIV infection both at once
So, in answer to your question, the symptoms can't tell you what you want to know. If you really think you are at risk, get tested!

Bad Liver is definitely right that you could have a cold at the same time that you are experiencing ARS. But your original information was correct in the ARS itself does not present with respiratory ailments lie runny nose, etc.

You said protected sex? this doesn't sound risky.. a dr once told me that most people who worry are not infected, he went on to say that is is the ones that don't worry that worry him... I believe that you are fine.. chill out, and stop spending all your money on expensive tests..
