What r the odds?

I was engaged in intercourse with a young lady in Capetown, South Africa! During the episode I kept checking to see if the condom was on, after checking at one stage I noticed about 5-10 thrusts after that it was off! What are my odds/chances of getting HIV even if she was positive. I did get flu/cold like symtoms about 4 weeks after the incident and a bit of diarreah!

A study done in Africa a few years back indicates that the odds of infection from a one time unprotected exposure with a woman that is known to be HIV+ is about 1 in 500. HIV is not transmitted as efficiently from a woman to a man as it is the other way.

Thanks for the information that you guys have sent. It has certainly helped to cool my nerves and I am now in a better frame of mind. I will however do my HIV test when 3 months have expired. I just want to go do the test and get on with everything else and get some sanity back in my life. I will keep visiting and reading as much information as possible so that I too can educate other people on this HIV/AIDS subject. Thanks once again. Jockeyguy!!
