A rash in it's self is no reason to start panicing about HIV. Dermatologists are very busy doctors just because rashs occur so easily and for so many reasons. You think getting into your doctor is bad, try getting into a dermatologist in an HMO.
The rash associated with ARS looks like a sunburn and is found on the trunk of the body. The most common thing to occur is a fever. However since fevers are the most common thing to occur during any viral infection, that doesn't count for much either.
The symptoms if there are going to be any will typicaly occur between 2 and 4 weeks after exposure. Anything occuring later or continuing for more than a few days is not indicitive of ARS.
ARC stands for Aids Related Complex. It was used to describe someone that was infected and was symptomatic. It's an old term that is not used anymore. I'm not sure where you came across that term, but if you are trying to now research all there is to know about HIV then do yourself a favor and make sure the information is CURRENT. At least to a couple of years. It will save you a lot of worry and grief.

Thanks...
The rash I have is a quarter sized red area with red raised bumps on my right lower stomach. It is not anywhere else on my body and it just itches rarely. It sometimes goes pink and then red. I feel fine otherwise. I am not HIV + as far as I know. I have always had safe and protected sex and never without a new latex condom for about the last 15 years. The last time I had sex was in late November
Many Thanks.
