Hi...I was just wondering about the use of condoms and the incidence of HIV. I was raped by some drunk guy about a month ago, he was wearing a condom, took it off half-way through, and put another one on. From what I remember, nothing leaked out, and I was dry afterwards. How high is my risk of HIV? I know nothing about the guy, except that i heard his friends say he is a good guy (I don't trust this).I am also obsessed with this HIV thing,and I can't wait for the two months to find out that I'm probably positive. THanks for answering.

A study done with serodiscordant couples showed that when condoms were used consistently, transmission didn't occur. So following that logic then the chances of you getting HIV from him, providing he's even infected, is nil.
Under the circumstances I can see why you might want to test, but there is no reason to think you will test positive. On the contrary the odds are excellent that you will test negative. When a condom is used, testing is not even recommended.
Since you already recognize you have an obsession over this 'HIV thing' why not spend the next 2 months in some serious counseling in order to try and alleviate this obsession of yours.
Just curious. I read a post on John Hopkins signed Jen. Was it you that was worried that the guy that did your blood work looked like he had AIDS and you were sure he infected you when he took your blood?

PLEASE IGNORE the other post to your question-That is an OLD and DISPROVEN study..and it pisses me off..OK..NOW,..you are fine as long as the condom was latex and it did not break..BUT, who would say this guy is a NICE guy??? Did you have him arrested??..that is the REAL issue here..get some help with the fact that you were raped...

Hi. Thanks for the posts. I really don't know what to believe. I don't know if the condoms were latex..but I do remember checking afterwards, and the condom did have some stuff in the bottom, therefore I think it didn't break, or leak, I don't know about the condom he used before though. And I was also dry after. He was so drunk that he couldn't get hard at all, so I'm not sure if he even did cum. I was passing in and out during it. I'm just really scared of getting HIV, just because I have the symptoms (sore throat and diarrhea and tiredness)...I just don't know what to do.
I wish I would get the positive test result back so I can go on with my life or something.

You are definitely at risk for any number of stds. Get CHECKED for everything. By the way, good guys don't rape and lots of these so-called "good" guys have lots of sexually transmitted diseases. Wait another month and get checked for HIV, plus for chlymidia, HPV, herpes, syphillis etc!
He's no GOOD GUY!
