Horrible Saliva (sorry!!)

I recently had a low to moderate risk sexual encounter with someone of suspect status.
For near enough the whole of the 10 weeks since this encounter I have felt my saliva as very stringy/mucousy and
As though its collecting at the base of my throat. Is this to do with the onslaught of HIV?
I thought that even once you were infected that for a considerable period of time you would actually return to your normal health.
Apart from this problem with my saliva I feel ok – I am testing soon but am worried regarding this matter

This is not a symptom that I have ever heard of.
Additionally you need to remember that there are NO symptoms that people with HIV report that are exclusive to HIV. Every possible symptom also has hundreds of other causes.
While I don't know which part of the world you are in, in the US it's winter and things like this are very common.
You are correct in your thought that typically someone who's infected will have no health effects for up to 10+ years after being infected, this is because the virus is very slow in it's destruction of the immune system.

Apreciate it Gregg & will let you know how results go.
Its the one thing I am worrying about so will try to keep level headed regarding this. I just worry that maybe my immune system isn't working as it should. Paranoia? - hopefully!!!!
