Lymph Nodes?

OK, I am starting to obsessively feel my lymph nodes. I think I have a sore neck. What is an enlarged lymph node? Does anyone know? I've read that the size can vary depending on the location and also depending on the person.. ie some people have larger nodes to begin with. If that's the case, then I give up trying to diagnose a lymph node problem. My next ? is, would you have other symptoms during Lymphodephany? Ie, does it usually accompany a sore throat, fever, etc.. during ARS or does it occur all by itself? I generally feel OK except for a sore neck I've had the last couple days, but I work out frequently, so that's an easy explanation.

I don't know for sure whether I'm infected, but I can tell you that you will know if you have swollen nodes.. At least I can tell.. The feel like almond shaped glands in your neck and groin and they give a dull ache.. I had the sore throat and aches but they occured prior to my nodes swelling.. I had a negative test at 5months so I'm hoping that I'm not infected.. I just don't know what else I can have... I will test again in July...

Thanks. Most of mine generally feel like the size of a small pea and do not cause discomfort (although they may be giving me this mild sore neck!) The ones under my jaw are a little larger. I think all my nodes feel 'hard' but I've never felt them before this so I don't know what they would feel like otherwise. I have no ther symptoms at this point, although very early on (@5-6 days after exposure) I did have a rash & possible fever (never took my temp..) & mild sweating at night. It seems to me like I have had just about all the symptoms and it's driving me absolutely nuts. I'm happy to hear you're -ve at 5 months. I've got a while to wait before I'm tested for what I have been told is a low risk exposure (one time only at that!). I'm already seeing a therapist to help me through this. Every now and then I obsess over the 'symptoms' and drive my stress and anxiety level through thr roof. It's sometimes hard to get throught the day!

I think the average size of a lymph node is about the size of a pea, some a little bit larger. J
