What does this test name mean?

i am negative but wanted to ask something.
on the report from quest and under the term - TEST NAME, it states ..... HIV-1 AB W/CONFIRM.,NY HIV-1 AB, EIA
it says non-reactive, no HIV-1 antibodies dectected. what does AB mean?
what does W/CONFIRM mean? did i need western blott& no one told me?
thanks - all the dr said was i am neg at 6 months but he didnt go over this report he handed me. what do those things mean......

AB means AntiBody. W/Confirm means with confirmation of a positive result. It doesn't mean a Western Blot was done. It means if the test is positive then a confirmatory test is requested.
