For all those who continually say heterosex is not as dangerous for a man.. Here is a posting from JAMA HIV/AIDS
The rate of male-to-female transmission was not significantly different from the rate of female-to-male transmission (12.0 per 100 person-years vs. 11.6 per 100 person-years).
The website is: http://poz.ca/?hiv=HIV+heterosexual+transmission

Read some medical journals people! The above posting is from a study. Now, for 2 points - who here can tell me the difference this type of study might have if it were done on men in the U.S. and what trait men here have that helps them (supposdly)
But, anyways - hetero sex is dangerous for men. No if's and's or but's about it!

Heterosexual sex is dangerous, meaning contracting HIV is very possible. Condoms should ALWAYS be used. The fact is gay men are at a much and I mean MUCH higher risk of contracting the virus if they are having unprotected anal sex. i wouldnt say that vaginal unprotected sex is no risk for the male but it isnt near the risk of unprotected anal sex. Please don't believe all the stats you read. Any gay organization in this country will tell you what I am saying right now. JUST USE PROTECTION WITH EVERYBODY YOUR WITH AND THIS SITE AND THIS ISSUE WILOL GO AWAY FOR YOU
oh and if you are worried get tested after 90 days and then move on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clarify heterosexual--55% of heterosexuals are females and they ARE at risk--much more then male heterosexuals. And right now HIV is much more prevelent in the black and hispanic heterosexual community. This is in the US. Elsewhere the stats are different. But HIV is not easy to get. It's much easier to get lots of other sexually transmitted diseases that are also lifelong! Like Herpes and genital warts. So you still have to be really careful. Don't let those moronic cult members (ie the guys who claim that HIV doesn't cause AIDS or that condoms don't work and other nonsense) convince you otherwise. Sex without protection can be dangerous....

This study was done in Uganda where it is already known that the transmission rates from female to male are much higher than in developed nations. Many researchers suggest this is due to the much higher prevalance of STDs in general, lack of male circumcision, presence of female circumcision (genital mutilation) and the MUCH MUCH MUCH greater likelihood that the female partner is HIV positive than in the US. NExt time, try to actually read the study before hitting the panic button.
