See,I told you HIV replicates a cell's DNA TO RNA
      #5365 - 06/12/00 03:13 AM

The below is plagerized from Gallant ( the guru!)
I know that the present antiretroviral medications do not actually kill the virus.
However, if the medications inhibit the virus from reproducing, doesn't the virus die
by itself after a couple of days??

The virus does die quickly--within hours. However, the problem is not free virus, but
the fact that the viral RNA has become incorporated into the DNA of CD4 cells and
other human cells. As long as those cells are alive, the virus is safe and capable of
maintaining the infection.

Ok and.... new

All this information is good and all but what gives? Will it solve the conflict between window periods, what is the correct one 6 months (CDC) or 3 months (the rest of the world). Will it tell us what kind of people is the 5% or 1% that are supposed have antibodies later than 3 months? NO.

The six month window period can detect infection >99.9% of the time
The three month window period can detect infection 99.5% of the time
You chose.
