What is thrush? Does it appear within the ARS period ?

Typically it would not appear during ARS, but during later stages of the disease. It's basically a yeast infection in the mouth. I've never seen it before, but I heard it is like a hard and crusty yellowish film that can be scraped off. It ususally appears on the sides of the mouth.

The body will produce oral thrush when the immune system is compromised. All it is is excess bacteria in the mouth that a normal healthy immune system can normally fight off.. I heard that it can not be scraped off..

Thrush is a whitish plaque-like build-up on the palate and around the tonsils or in the back of the throat. It's not just a white discoloration--you can actually scrape thrush off the mucosal surfaces. The last post that indicated that you can't scrape it off was incorrect.

ACTUALLY THRUSH IS AN OVERGROWTH OF THE YEAST CALLED CANDIDAS. IT IS THE SAME TYPE THAT CAUSES A VAGINAL YEAST INFECTION IN WOMEN. IT IS USUALLY CREAMY AND WHITE IN APPEARANCE AND SOMETIMES THE TISSUE BEHIND IT IS RED AND INFLAMED. IT CAN CAUSE A FUNNY TASTE IN THE MOUTH, AND SOMETIMES IT CAN BE SCRAPED OFF. IT USUALLY OCCURS AFTER A PERSON HAS BEEN INFECTED FOR A WHILE AND THE IMMUNE SYSTEM HAS BEEN DAMAGED. I READ SOME WHERE ON THE NET THAT IT DOES NOT OCCUR DURING ARS.
