I too had swollen painful lymph nodes in my groin but it was due to Herpes that I had contracted years ago even though I had no visible sores the painful nodes was due to that. Now, I am not trying to scare you but really think about it you tested negative at 6 weeks which I personally think you are not infected!!! The swollen painful nodes are due to an infection not from HIV trust me from a person who has slept with someone who was HIV positive.

Sorry to inform you of this but the painful swollen lymph nodes would be all of your nodes not a generalized area. You have already tested NEG at 6 weeks and will more than likely be negative and HIV free at 3 mos. Do not start thinking now that every little bump and sore spot on your body has to be HIV, it will only lead you on a path of extra worry and stress that the body doesn’t need. If the pain persists consult a physician, it may be something totally different that if you put off to long you may not be able to treat. And please remember not every thing is HIV, there are many other things that produce symptoms.

Hey G-man, first of all let me thank you for all the support you are providing us with and second-of-all, do you recall symptoms you experienced after infection? Is it really like the flu from hell or just like a simple cold? Thank you.

No 2 people are the same, for me it was like the flue from hell and for 80% it is, for others there is very little change or not much of a kick to the conversion. Without being a doctor I can not tell you what it may be like for you. I personally am a big athletic man that never gets sick because I keep my body healthy. It put me down!!! So go figure.

I agree with G-manThere are lots of things that can cause lymph nodes to swell, it's their job and how they help your immune system.

As for ARS for me I had none at all, no flu no swollen nodes that seemed out of place nothing. A lot of people don't report any signs of ARS that's why it's not a good indicator. The only thing you can really trust is a test.

Hey, Thanks for your words of advise. today i dont feel scared anymore. I made an apointment with a urologist and most probaboy its going to be nothing or a stupid infection that can be treated. Soemtimes you just let your mind wonder off and irrationality takes over and we panic. Again thanks alot for your comfort.
