symptoms, hiv not from females

I have symptoms for some time, swollen gland, cough, sweats, itchy skin, headaches, tired. Went to my doctor who asked me if I was homosexual, I am not, and he said I don't need any hiv test, that I will not get it from females, I live in Seattle. Am I being worried for nothing?

You can get hiv from females,also hepatitis. Your Doctor should go back to school.

Your Doctor is an idiot. I cannot believe how shallow and close minded and uneducated he is on the virus. He needs to retire. Yes you can get the virus from females but male to female transmission is more common. There are alot of straight non IV drug using men with HIV just ask Magic Johnson. Get a test if you want one so HIV can be ruled out. Oh and I would switch DR's if I were you.
