I just wanted to post my story for everyone to get a little insight and to rest assured all the "worried wells" out there. I had protected sex with an HIV+ person he never told me he was HIV+ until like a year later. When I first found out I freaked and my life was in shambles. I went and got tested and everything was NEGATIVE but while I was worrying and doubting every exam I took I came with a painful swollen right lymph node. I swore up and down that HIV was hiding in my lymph nodes I went to the doctor and he couldn't find anything wrong with me I stressed myself out I doubted my doctors you name it because I was getting the swollen lymph node every other month then it started with both lymph nodes swollen (note: all these swollen lymph nodes were in my groins and sometimes in my armpits) and they were very painful..at this point I swore I had HIV I even told my doctor to start me on treatment UNTIL one day when I got another swollen node and then a blister on my vagina I remembered that I had contracted HERPES (15 years ago to be exact) and that from all the stress I was having recurrences and then I started doing some research and read that stress can bring an outbreak and also they don't normally have to be an outbreak with blisters actually with the swollen nodes I was having what they call "viral shedding" or something......anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know a SWOLLEN LYMPH NODE doesn't mean HIV is hiding....and you know what it could be several swollen but that doesn't mean HIV...I just want to say PLEASE BELIEVE YOUR TESTS AND BELIEVE YOUR DOCTORS unfortunatley for me after all this I only have a few friends left and I had to change doctors because they wouldn't see me anymore and my therapist told me to STOP IT!!! So, what I am left with is VALTREX because it just got so bad I am under what they call suppresive therapy for HERPES.
