exposure: cunnelingus on woman after protected vaginal sex.
hiv status and menstrual status of woman was unknown.

symptoms: basically, i got 2 different SETS of symptoms. one set points directly to hiv, the other sets points to hepatitis.

the ARS-like set: got ill 10 days after exposure(for 2-3 days), fever unknown, lymph nodes popped up and persist till today (>5 months post exposure). i also had sore throat, a white tounge and headache (last 3 persist till today). i have some weired changes in CD4/CD8 going on but docs seemed to be not very concerned about it.

the hepatitis-like symptoms: started 1 month post exposure: extreme fatique, jaundice (doc said no jaundice - i said yes), urin and stool discoloration, sometimes blured vision and dizzyness, night sweats, a general tendency to sweat, the sweat smells very abnormal. dry and itchy skin. preassure sensitive skin. sometimes my temperature is a bit elevated. need for 10h+ sleep.

Since juli i was 100% convinced of beeing simultanely coinfeted with HIV and Hep-b or c. However i have gone through very extensive testing for both hiv and viral hepatitis. to my big surprise, everything came back negative so far. one doc (one of the best PCR specialists in Switzerland) even used the term "100% HIV free" on me.

howeve i will go for a next round of hiv tests next week and i have registered at the hospital for in-deep examination of my liver.

besides hiv, hep a,b,c,d i also tested for ebv, mono, toxoplasmosis, all negative. blood values do not look like cancer (leukemia, lymphoma) would be an issue.

doc says it is a mental trauma i am facing, however this may explain 60% of my symptoms but no way all of them.

i will keep you updated when my next tests come back
hope they stay negative

"my me", i also hope things work out well for you, too!

joe

Joe,
As you stated;

I guess the doctors and the tests must be wrong. Are they not trained or specifically designed to give factual or truthful answers? I was just wondering because if the HIV virus is in your system it doesn’t hide and wait for an opportune time to come calling. If it is in your system and your symptoms were HIV you would test positive on an HIV test.

hehe well said, thanks GMan!

you are a godsent - i appreciate your encouraging postings and i feel sometimes really stupid when reviewing my tests and still not believing.

i agree that it is unthinkable that i have hiv+hep-C and NO PCR would pick them up. that is really paranoid.

the only problem is that i still got no other diagnosis from the doc and many many blood tests point to both liver disease and hiv infection: e.g. rollercoaster cd4:cd8 changes, lymphocyte count 30% below range, haematogramm revealed that "some lymphocytes are reactive" (which may indicate some kind of ongoing infection), etc. etc.

however, all i can do is seeing more doctors and keep on testing (for all possible conditions/diseases)

thanks again for the encouraging posting,
i hope to be able to report confidence in my neg-status soon!

best wishes,
joe
