Hi Unlucky,
How are you doing? I am still going to test at 9 and 12 months because of persisting symptoms, in particular blocked ears. I remember you said you had a similar problem - I just wondered if you could tell me how long your ears felt blocked for - you know, like you'd been swimming under water. You have tested negative to hiv, so it might make me feel reassured!
Best wishes
Extremely

Lot's of people have problems with their ears getting blocked. That's why there are all sorts of ear wax removal systems in the drug stores. Have you tried any of the systems which soften the ear wax and then the bulb syringe to flush to wax out?
Sometimes it's best just to look for the simple answer.

Hey Extremely Yes I did have that blocked ears symptom about twice, lasted about a week both times. However the ringing I was having in my ears was more of a problem. don't remember ever having the blocked ear problem before, unless I had been swimming, but it really didn't bother me that much, because its the type of thing I might not have noticed. As your aware I had much worse symptoms, with the only remaining symptom being my white coated tongue, which everywhere I read is listed as a symptom of HIV I know that it also says coatedtongue is not a symptom of HIV but white tongue is. When I went to my Acupuncturist she asked to see my tongue nd saidthat awhitetongue is a sign of depresses immune sysyem. I scrape it several times a day but it comes right back a thick layer of white stuff that scrapes off as a sand like white to brown mucus Good luck Unlucky

Dear Jackie Blue and Unlucky - thank you both for your replies - my best wishes to you both. Jackie, the doctor has looked in my ears and they are not actually blocked with wax, but the eardrum is red. It just feels "blocked" and like I have to "pop" my ears. The problem is that this has been the case for 7 months and I have never had anything last that long before. On top of that I have this weird burnt feeling in my palate that has lasted just as long. As you know I have had 3 low CD4 counts in the 370 - 410 range but have tested negative by antibody tests at 9, 12, 16, 22 and 24 weeks. I guess I just don't know what's wrong with me, but it all started 2 weeks post exposure and I've still got all this stuff and joint pains. The doctors tell me I don't have hiv and I guess I should believe them but I just don't feel right. Sorry for the long winded answer.
