I just had my 24 week hiv test and was neg.Still having many symptoms,I was reading that co-infection with hepc c could delay antibodies,i know hepc is hard to transmit sexually but can happen. If this did occur would this delay both virus's and if so am i still safe or would it delay antibodies past 6 months.I have read it could take up to a year is this true or was this with 1st generation elisa's.

if you are worried about hepc, just take a hep c rna viral load pcr.then if thats negative you can just worry about hiv,but if you tested neg at 26 weeks then you dont have hiv.ok......

So are you saying co-infection wpuld not delay antibody production past 6 months, also i can't pay the expensive fee for a pcr for hepc ,could that take longer then 6 months to produce antibody's.thank you

I am by far an expert, but I do recall reading something that says hep C would not interfere with the HIV testing.
