I am worried I might have contracted hiv through kissing. I kissed a couple girls I met in bars. Since then I was diagnosed with mono, and have also look to have what appears to be genital herpes now. I also had other symptoms during my mono of diarrhea and a rash on my eye and foot. I have taken the test, but I havent gotten the resutls back. Why did this happen to me? I'm not even promiscuous. Its not fair, now I probably must live with this diesease until I die. Which probably wont be too far away. =( I'm soo scared...

You can't contract HIV through kissing. Blood, semen and vaginal secretions are the only proven fluid to pass HIV not saliva. You were diagnosed with mono that is why you had your symptoms. You didn't even need to test for HIV because you did not have an exposure to it through kissing.

One other question... my 1st monotest came back negative, but then the second one came back positive. My question is, do you think that all doctors use the monospot test? Is it possible that he just look at blood cell count to diagnose? Is it a rule that a doctor should a monospot? I should find out today or tomorrow, but I feel I have already diagnosed myself. Please write back!! thanks

I don't know...I'm not a doctor. You should ask your doctor that. However, you should get HIV out of your head because you do not have it if your only exposure was kissing.

You should have a test for EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) antibodies (IgG and IgM) if you think it is mono. Certain findings on the blood count can be suspicious but you need to have the EBV antibody test. Why do you think you have genital herpes? Has your doctor examined you?

i think i have genital herpes because of a bump on my penis in which puss came out of. I have also had a rash on my eyes and nose that I also think is herpes or HIV related. I am going on my 4th day waiting for my HIV test results. The sad thing is I think I got it through tongue kissing a girl at a bar. I didnt think it was a risk. oh well, my life is over I guess. game over, please insert coin. =(

my only hope is that I managed to catch mono and maybe that is what triggered off the herpes in my body that could of already been there. (I dont know if thats possible)
