I have had thrush now for about a week. Should I test for hiv or ARS or could it be somethingelse? Not really worried just curious.

Thrush can be caused by just about anything; poor dental hygiene, poor nutrition, over use of antibiotics, having mono, smoking, yes it can be caused by having HIV. It is basically an oral yeast infection. If you've been exposed to HIV then you need to get tested 90 post exposure. It is common amoungst HIV patients, but that doesn't mean you have HIV because you have thrush. So just go get tested for HIV and treated for the thrush. Hope this helps.

Yes but is ARS not a yeast-like virus?

No ARS is not a yeast like infection. ARS stands for Acute Retroviral Syndrome. The post above is exactly correct as to what Oral Thrush is.
