testing negative but can't shake
      #39761 - 09/10/02 08:10 PM

Hi everyone I have tested negative out to 8 months now, I can't seem to shake the fear of HIV, due to this chronic prostatitis, and mild sore throat that keeps recurring. Anyone have advice is chronic prostatis common, or common in people with hiv. How about a mild sore throat that won't go away. Should I look for other reasons. I have been under extreme stress, guilt. Can stress alone do this to my body. Would appreciate any honest words of advice. Thanks for the help, in advance

I guess you are right and the tests are wrong. The tests can detect someone with a viral load of "undetectable" and a t-cell count of 1480, with a first generation test. These tests were just run through a clinical study, every generation of tests from the early tests to the newest. All the people who were healthy pos tested pos, and the negitive people all came out negitive. There were 200 people in this test done by Kaiser in there HIV clinic.
I would trust the tests unless you know more then the scientists and doctors that developed them.
