I got infected by an animal

I'm serious. My doctor told me that if the animal has hiv it can give it to you by scratching you. I work with monkeys and feel I may be exposed. Thats how the virus made it into humans I think.

Ok first off, if you work with monkeys you would know that they cannot give you HIV from a scratch. Second off, no doctor in his right mind would tell you that. Third off, there are many different theories on how humans got aids. Fourth off, there has to be contact with the monkeys fluids, blood (and forgive me for saying) sexual fluids. So unless the monkey was bleeding or you were (pardon me) having sexual relations with the monkey, then you do not have HIV. And last but not least, if you think you might have been exposed then you need to take a test 90 days post exposure. Seriously you need to relax though. You don't have HIV.

Alice, you might want to cut back on that special brewed tea the Mad Hatter makes for the Queens Tea Parties....
On the serious side....if there is a serious side....Change Doctors. If he/she doesn't even know how HIV is transmitted or that modern day monkeys get SIV (which we don't) then I sure wouldn't trust anything else the good doctor has to say.
