Ok, once and for all I want people to drop the testing period subject. I went to webmd.com and asked an RN about the testing window. She told me that 3 months is conclusive. The only time you have to retest at 6 months is if you KNOW for a FACT that you were without a doubt exposed to the virus. The only other time you test at 6 months is if you come up positive and they retest to confirm it. She also said 3 months = 90 days!!! Not 84, not 88, but 90!! So for those of you who keep retesting, STOP!!!!!! You are wasting time and causing undue harm to your body.
Testing Period by Need_To_Know2 (WebMD), on 8/13/2002 5:53:42 AM I want to know if testing at 3 months is trust worthy or if it is a must to get tested at 6 months as well?? Thanks!!! REPLY to this Post | MORE POSTS by Need_To_Know2 (WebMD)

in most cases there is no reason for that 6 month test. Only people who KNOW for a FACT that they were exposed to HIV should be taking that 6 month test now.

not knowing at all also warrants 6 month testing. If you think that you may have been exposed, test at 180 days and 90 days. Repeated testing withing these time periods is an unecessary waste of resources.
